The Hollister Midget football team was handed a tough loss by the Santa Cruz Stingrays 19-0 last Saturday evening.

Both defenses were impenetrable for most of the first half until Santa Cruz scored after a long run making it 8-0 to end the half.

The defensive battle continued in the second half when Hollister Quarter back Christopher Pritchett threw an interception that Santa Cruz took back for a touchdown putting them on top 16-0.

The game was put away in the 4th with a Santa Cruz  Field goal making the final score 19-0.

It was a frustrating game for the Vikings who were plagued with both injuries and penalties for most of the game.  Still the Vikings never quit and were led by Linebacker Owen Branon who racked up a total of 13 tackles. Also contributing on defense were Isaias Rivera with 8 tackles including a sack and Alberto Rodriguez with 12 tackles.

The Midgets look to have a better performance next week when they take on the Mt. View Mauraders.
